Memberships 2013

Burnie_Tennis_DeviceRGBPlease be advised that subscriptions are now due for the new tennis year, 2012-2013.

It is not without much consideration and debate, that the Board is recommending a modest increase to the membership fees for the 2012 /2013 membership year.

We have endeavoured to absorb the growing costs of running the club for as long as possible in keeping with our stated aim of “keeping the costs to members as low as possible”.

It is important to remember that The Burnie Tennis club is a not-for-profit organisation and runs so successfully in large part due to the dedication of its volunteers and office bearers who give of their time for free. Unfortunately the steep rise in operating costs at the club has forced the Board to act to offset these.

The two biggest items that have forced the club to increase prices are:

  • Electricity costs

  • Insurance premiums.

The proposed increase in fees in based on a Tennis Single membership increasing by $10.00. The other membership categories have been increased based on this ration and then rounded out.

Membership is due by the 16th November 2012 – this is when all member swipe cards are programmed to expire. Members can contact the membership officer to further discuss payment details and options if needed.

Tennis Tasmania Affiliation Dues (Not applicable to Social Members):

The club is required to pay affiliation fees to Tennis Tasmania for all BTC members.

This affiliation fee covers player injury insurance whilst playing at the BTC amongst other things.

These fees will be paid no later than December 2012 and members who don’t renew their membership by this time will not be covered by TT insurance.

Members wishing to be covered by TT insurance after the cut off time will have to make a written submission to the membership officer.

Member Details:

Have your personal details changed in the last year??

Have you been receiving e-mails from the club??

If you fall into the above categories, it would be greatly appreciated if members could take the time to fill out a “Membership Renewal form” which can be obtained from the club bar or website. Alternatively you can e-mail the membership office directly of any changes.

Of particular importance is keeping contact details up to date – such as phone numbers, addresses, e-mail etc. E-mail is one of the main methods by which the club communicates with members during the year – it is quick, cheap and reliable.
