Australia’s Jessica Moore showed great determination to come back from 5-2 down in the third set to clinch a quarter-finals spot in the 2010 McDonalds Burnie International.
The third seed, Moore took the first set 6-3 and was looking good, but her opponent Kristyna Pliskova of the Czech Republic hit back in the second taking it 6-4 and looked like causing an upset when leading 5-2 in the third. Moore dug deep to reel off the next five games to complete a stunning comeback.
Second seed, Arina Rodionova of Russia was ruthless in her second round match against Australian Alenka Hubacek only conceding the one game in her 6-1 6-0 victory. All sets were one sided with Yan taking the first set 6-0, then Babos took control in the second winning it 6-1. Yan then steadied in the third to clinch the set and the match 6-1.
