Rising stars into semis

The rising stars of the ITF Womens circuit dominated the quarter finals day at the McDonald’s Burnie International.

In the first quarter final of the day, 16 year old qualifier from Canada, Eugenie Bouchard continued her outstanding form defeating Daria Gavrilova of Russia in straight sets 6-1 6-2.

Another 16 year old qualifier, Saisai Zheng of China outlasted Russian junior, Yulia Outintseva winning in three sets 6-4 0-6 6-3.

The third 16 year old qualifier, Nastja Kolar of Slovenia took out the only remaining seed in the main draw, number 5 seed Victorian, Olivia Rogowska. Kolar came back from a set down to move into the semis winning 1-6 6-1 6-3.

The final quarter final match between Great Britain’s Emily Webley-Smith and Victorian Karolina Wlodarczak was another two setter with Wlodarczak getting the better of her opponent 7-5 6-4 to progress to the semis.
